about the artist

DRĖĖĖMY is a transnational 1st-generation Indigenous Egyptian interdisciplinary creator, arts curator, sound composer/DJ/producer, poet, vocalist, embodied meditation guide, self-empowerment activist & community organizer based in New York City & performing Earthwide.

She is the founder of the global holistic impact agency uplifting women+ & black, indigenous, people of color artists and healers - The Collective BAE.

After a decade of offering embodied explorations of consciousness and expression at the intersection of arts, culture, and well-being, DRĖĖĖMY has embarked on a multi-year immersive experiential project mixing traditional & futurist elements by fusing rhythm-forward electronic music production with folk myth, song, and storytelling.

Her intention is to explore, preserve, and share enduring healing technologies in a time of great despair and separation.

THE INTENTION

The memory of a place is often tied to the land and waters of the place: this project aims to remind us that our return and remembrance of care for the planet, is our care for our art - and our own bodies as channels for that art.

At its core, MOTHER & WATER is a transcendent inquiry into climate justice & ecological preservation. Most indigenous understandings of the Earth and its creative force are feminine in nature — this work aims to feature and uplift those perspectives.

MOTHER & WATER AS A WHOLE is motivated by and draws inspiration from CULTURAL PRESERVATION & THE climate justice movement, uplifting the languages and stories of sacred sites + bodies of water - including the human artists (bodies of water themselves) who are transcribing and translating these myths, legends, symbols and songs THAT BECOME OTHERWISE LOST TO THE SANDS OF TIME. the work we create is like a water.

In CO-CREATION with her MULTI-DISCIPLINARY global ecosystem of evolutionary artists, dreeemy & The Collective BAE (alongside aligned partners) are redefining what it is to tell immersive, bio-diverse, cultural-rooted inter-GENERATIONAL stories in the digital age.

The music, the art, and the artists involved are all activated with a particular and intentional diasporic lens that unfurls and explores what it is to both have forgotten and to remember what our ELDERS & ancestors once knew about tending our home on our mother planet Earth .

this project prioritizes & uplifts bipoc voices of the diaspora.

In our world, music & art gather AND TRANSFORM the collective consciousness like nothing else.

MOTHER & WATER is a FULL-SPECTRUM infusion of INTENTION into otherwise numb dancefloors, extractive digital technologies, and HEARTBREAKING eco-grief AND CULTURAL TURMOIL. It is aN INTENTIONAL offering to our mother planet.

it is a reminder of the remedies that those who came long before us, left for us: listening. witnessing. praying. singing. dancing.

it is a pathway towards re-uniting the collective, before anything else.
